Anxiety

Anxiety can show up in many different ways. Maybe you tend to worry constantly, with spiraling thoughts that keep you awake at night. Or maybe you notice it more in your body, such as a racing heart, upset stomach, headaches, muscle tension, or panic attacks. Some people feel intense fear about specific situations or things, while others find that anxiety makes it difficult to do everyday activities, enjoy life, or even leave the house.

Regardless of how anxiety shows up for you, it can be exhausting and discouraging to live in a constant state of tension or worry.

I have extensive experience treating anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and specific phobias. I also work with individuals with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and am trained in exposure and response prevention (ERP), which is one of the most effective treatments for OCD and many anxiety-related conditions.

In therapy, we focus on understanding what is maintaining your anxiety and on building skills to respond to it in a different, more helpful way. This might include learning to relate differently to anxious thoughts, gradually facing feared situations, or developing tools to calm your body’s stress response. We work at a pace that feels challenging but manageable, and always with respect for your goals and boundaries.

Anxiety does not have to run your life. With the right support and approach, it is possible to feel more confident, more at ease, and more in control of your day-to-day experiences.
